What we don't use
Many ingredients that irritate sensitive or overtreated skin are still routinely used in the cosmetics industry today. These include microplastics, paraffins, palm oil-based raw materials, dyes, and unnecessary synthetic additives.
RE SKIN deliberately takes a different approach. We do without all these substances because they can stress the skin barrier, dry it out, or disrupt its balance in the long term. Our formulations remain clear, calm, and skin-identical – for maximum tolerability and real effect.
1. No Microplastics
Microplastics are still used in many cosmetic products – as a filler, texture enhancer, or auxiliary.
They have no benefit for the skin and can:
stress the barrier
clog pores
accumulate on the skin
hardly degrade in the environment
RE SKIN is completely microplastic-free. Our textures are created by biomimetic structures and natural lipids, not by synthetic polymers.
2. No Paraffins
Paraffins and mineral oils are widely used in the cosmetics industry because they are inexpensive, stable, and easy to process.
However, for the skin, they often mean:
Dehydration
Alteration of the lipid balance
a film-like, short-term effect
a weakened natural skin function
We consistently avoid paraffins and instead rely on high-quality vegetable oils, DMS lipids, and skin-identical ceramides that support the barrier instead of covering it up.
3. No Palm Oil
Palm oil is a standard raw material in the cosmetics industry – inexpensive, widely available, but ecologically and qualitatively problematic.
It is difficult to trace and does not align with our philosophy of reduced, high-quality formulations.
RE SKIN does not use palm oil-based raw materials. We work with shea butter, squalane, rice bran oil, kukui nut oil, and jojoba oil – all traceable, stable, and skin-friendly.
4. No Synthetic Dyes or Unnecessary Additives
Many products are colored or "beautified" with artificial additives, even though these have no benefit for the skin.
They can irritate, sensitize, or subtly destabilize the barrier.
Our products have the color that their active ingredients bring.
No dyes, no optical effect agents, no fillers.
