What we do without

 

Chemical Preservatives:

We do not use chemical preservatives, unlike conventionally processed cosmetics. The reason for this is, on the one hand, our conviction that skincare should be highly effective yet as natural as possible, and on the other hand, the higher skin compatibility of our ingredients.

Since the preservatives commonly used in cosmetics are often suspected of causing allergies, we have also been guided by our GREEN INGREDIENTS philosophy in this regard. Thanks to our intensive research, we were able to develop a new natural variant made from renewable raw materials as well as the leaves and bark of the magnolia tree, which is well-tolerated – MAGNOLIA EXTRACT. And it also offers a wonderful side effect: antioxidant properties and protection against germs and bacteria. This formulation is not considered a chemical preservative, so our products are "preservative-free" according to cosmetic regulations!

Microplastics:

Highly effective cosmetics should not only be good for us but also for the environment, and therefore not end up in our drinking water when we remove makeup. That's why we don't use the usual acrylate compounds. Instead, we have replaced them with a combination of two natural substances: guar gum from the guar bean and xanthan gum, a naturally occurring polysaccharide. This makes our creams naturally soft and supple, setting new standards through the combination of biotechnology and natural ingredients, without compromising on the high dosage of our active ingredients.

Animal Ingredients:

All our products are vegan and cruelty-free, meaning they are produced without animal suffering. It took extensive research to find and develop all the active ingredients that met our personal ethical and cosmetic standards – but it was worth it. Today, with each of our products, we can prove that luxurious, highly effective anti-aging care does not need animal ingredients to achieve the effect that conventional products promise. 

Parabens:

Parabens are a group of chemicals mostly used in cosmetics for their preserving effect. The associated substances can be recognized by the ending "-paraben" on the ingredient list. You will not find this ending on any of our products, as we work without parabens. The reason for this is that they can enter the bloodstream through the skin and are suspected of disrupting developmental phases and having carcinogenic properties. 

Paraffins:

These alkaline chemicals are frequently used in conventional cosmetics and skincare, as they initially leave a superficially soft and smooth skin feeling. The actual effect, however, is contrary to the initial feeling. Paraffins stress the natural skin barrier, thicken the skin layer, and leave the skin damaged, dry, and particularly susceptible to increased wrinkle formation. 

Silicones:

Silicones derived from petroleum are mostly used in conventional cosmetics as a substitute for valuable oils. They initially give a soft, silky feeling to skin and hair. However, this impression is deceptive, as silicones cannot be absorbed by the skin and merely form a soft film over the application areas. Beneath this film, they dry out the affected areas and prevent the absorption of valuable vitamins, oils, and minerals. For this reason, we completely refrain from using these ingredients. 

Emulsifiers:

The function of emulsifiers is to combine water, water-based substances, and oils. However, what they achieve in the product, they also do on the skin. During facial cleansing, they cling to the skin's natural fats and remove them. This breaks down the skin barrier, leading to lasting damage to the cell structure. Therefore, we use elaborate mixing processes and formulations that eliminate the need for emulsifiers to combine our active ingredients. 

Plastic Bottles:

To save plastic, we use glass packaging for almost all our products. An exception is our cleanser, for which we opted for packaging made from recycled plastic. The decisive factor for this decision was the safety aspect in the bathroom. Should smaller products fall, both the products and your bathroom tiles remain intact. However, for larger and heavier products, this could mean an increased risk of breakage. 

 

Unnecessary Outer Packaging:

Jars and Pipettes:

We prefer packaging that minimizes skin contact with the product. When removing from a jar, our personal hygiene standards would not be met. We also avoid pipettes. Our experience shows that with both these methods, the contents of cosmetic products are repeatedly "contaminated." With jars, fingers are used instead of spatulas, and the pipette also repeatedly comes into contact with the skin, which is then screwed back into the bottle. Pump dispensers, on the other hand, protect the product and ensure comfortable, precise dispensing. This way, you get more out of our highly effective formulations.
